Exclusive story on House of Terror:Siblings Booked in Doda Blast Case Under UAPA, Links Traced Back to 1996 Encounter Slug-2709ZS_DODA_TEROR_UAPA_R By Raja Rehber Jamal Location-Doda VO: In a startling revelation, Doda police have booked two siblings in connection with 12-9-2025 blast case under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). The case has opened a dark chapter of terror history in the district, tracing its roots back nearly three decades. According to official sources, reliable inputs at Police Station Doda revealed that Javed Hussain Attu (45) and Muzaffar Hussain Attu (36), sons of late Abdul Ahad Attu and residents of Mohalla Drumri, were found involved in terrorist activities. Police allege the brothers conspired to carry out a grenade attack on a nearby police post or security personnel to spread fear and disturb peace in the region. Investigators said while preparing for the attack, the grenade slipped from Javed Hussain’s hand and exploded in the courtyard of their house. Though no one was injured, the blast triggered panic among locals and created an atmosphere of terror. On the basis of this information, FIR No. 211/2025 under sections 4/5 ESA and 13/16/18/39 UAPA was registered, and the investigation was entrusted to DySP HQ Doda Ajay Anand. House With a Terror Past... What makes the case more alarming is that the house of the accused brothers is not new to terror links. In 1996, two terrorists—including a Pakistani militant—were killed in an encounter inside the same house. Police records show that in February 1996, Abdulla Bahu of Pakistan and a local militant Bashir Ahmed of Malwas, Doda were gunned down by 10 Rashtriya Rifles and Doda Police during an encounter inside the residence of late Abdul Ahad Ittu, father of the current accused. An FIR (No. 25/1996 u/s 307, 212 RPC, 3/25 Arms Act, 3/4 ESA) was registered, and later the case was challaned vide Challan No. 37 dated 30/06/1997. Abdul Ahad Ittu was jailed for several years in connection with the case. Present Profile of Accused Officials disclosed that one of the accused, Javed Hussain, is a shopkeeper also dealing in scrap, while his brother Muzaffar Hussain works in the health department. Both have now been formally arrested, and investigators are probing possible involvement of more individuals in the conspiracy.
