As the holy month of Ramadan enters its last Ashra (ten days), many Muslims begin observing I’tikaf, a special form of worship performed to seek closeness to Allah. In Ganderbal, more than 100 girls entered I’tikaf at Madrasa Fatimah-ul-Zehra Ganderbal on today. The participants have arrived from different parts of the Kashmir Valley to spend the last ten days of Ramadan in prayers, recitation of the Holy Quran, and spiritual reflection. Speaking to Salaam TV, Moulima Shafiya Iqbal highlighted the significance of I’tikaf, especially for women. She said that I’tikaf during the last ten days of Ramadan provides an opportunity for believers to dedicate themselves completely to worship and seek forgiveness and blessings from Allah. She also said that the madrasa has made proper arrangements for the participants so that they can observe I’tikaf in a peaceful and spiritual environment.
