Ganderbal: As the holy month of Ramadan enters its last Ashra (last ten days), Muslims across the Valley have intensified their prayers and acts of worship in search of Shab-e-Qadr (the Night of Power). In Ganderbal, many people were seen observing nightlong prayers on the 21st night of Ramadan, popularly known as “Taak Shab” (odd night). Devotees spent the night in mosques and at their homes reciting the Holy Quran, offering special prayers, and seeking forgiveness. Islamic scholars say that Shab-e-Qadr falls on one of the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan, which include the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th, and 29th nights. They urge believers to search for this blessed night through prayers and supplications during these nights. Scholars further emphasized that Shab-e-Qadr holds immense significance in Islam, as worship performed on this night is believed to be better than a thousand months. They encouraged people to make the most of the last Ashra by engaging in prayers, remembrance of Allah, and seeking forgiveness.
