Badgam,
Kashmir’s tourism sector is witnessing a steady revival after a brief slowdown following the Pahalgam terror attack. As security normalizes, travellers are returning to the Valley — drawn especially by the spectacular beauty of the autumn season. After weeks of caution, Kashmir is once again welcoming tourists, with the Valley’s iconic autumn colours becoming a major attraction. Visitors who explored the region earlier this year say the fall season—locally known as Harud— is equally magical, offering a palette of deep reds, oranges, and gold across Srinagar and beyond. From the golden canopies of Nishat Garden to the Chinar-lined pathways of the Mughal Gardens, travellers are sharing vibrant visuals online, urging others not to miss Kashmir’s most photogenic season. The renewed buzz comes at a time when security agencies have reinforced measures across key destinations following the recent attack. Tourist arrivals are now gradually rising. Hoteliers and travel operators report fresh inquiries from across India and abroad, signalling a return of confidence. Popular destinations like Srinagar, Pahalgam, Gulmarg, and the Dal Lake are once again witnessing movement—though not yet at peak levels. Local stakeholders say autumn remains one of Kashmir’s most enchanting periods, with crisp weather, serene gardens, calm lakes, and breathtaking landscapes drawing both photographers and holidaymakers. The tourism department has intensified promotions, hoping the season will help revive the industry after the temporary dip.
