Srinagar,
Srinagar, July 15: Despite the recent tragic incident in Pahalgam, the spirit of pilgrimage and tourism in Jammu and Kashmir is showing signs of strong revival. The annual Amarnath Yatra, which began on 3rd July, continues peacefully, with yatris successfully performing darshan at the holy cave and now heading towards Srinagar, breathing life back into the Valley's tourism sector. After darshan, pilgrims are visiting Ganta Ghar, Dal Lake, and other iconic spots in Srinagar. Many tourists can be seen enjoying shikara rides, exploring local markets, and experiencing the culture and hospitality of Kashmir. Hoteliers and local vendors around Boulevard Road and Polo View Market have reported increased footfall over the last few days, with many yatris extending their stay to explore the city. "We are ensuring all safety and comfort measures for yatris and tourists. Kashmir is safe and welcoming as always." Locals have also expressed positivity and resilience. "We condemn what happened in Pahalgam, but Kashmiriyat means peace and harmony. We welcome everyone with open hearts," Security has been heightened across tourist zones to ensure safety and maintain the peaceful environment. Authorities have also established help desks, medical camps, and tourist facilitation centers. The revival of tourist movement post-Pahalgam incident is being seen as a symbol of collective resilience, reflecting the region’s determination to move forward.
