PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti has expressed serious concern over the alleged assaults on Kashmiri shawl sellers in different parts of the country. She said incidents of Kashmiri traders being beaten in Uttarakhand, Haryana and other states are highly disturbing, and urged the government to take immediate measures to ensure their safety and stop such incidents. Mehbooba Mufti also said that Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has reportedly been asked to remove references to the Hurriyat Conference from his X (formerly Twitter) profile, which she described as unjustified interference. She further demanded the release of all Kashmiri prisoners, stating that their court hearings should be conducted regularly and in accordance with the law.
