Tirupati Laddu ghee Case: SIT Questions Former TTD Chairman for 8 Hours at His Hyderabad Residence A serious allegations that the ghee used in preparing the Tirupati laddu prasadam was adulterated with animal fat including beef tallow and pig fat as well as vegetable fat. These allegations were directly raised by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu targeting past YSRCP govt & former CM YS Jagan mohan Reddy. Based on this TTD former Chairman filed a case in SC demanding justice on very big allegations made by AP CM. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) stated that fake or “spurious” ghee worth approximately ₹250 crore was supplied over a period of five years. According to the SIT, nearly 68 lakh kg of adulterated ghee was used. A CBI-led SIT is now probing the case. In this case after questing ttd Ex EO Dharma Reddy for the first time came to question politicians, SIT Officers have arrested Chinna Appanna, once the PA of former TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy, and listed him as A-24 in the case. Investigators allege that Appanna demanded a commission of about ₹25 per kg from ghee supplier Bhole Baba Dairy, and that the money was routed through hawala channels. The SIT also states that in 2022, on YV Subba Reddy’s instructions, TTD officials sent ghee samples from multiple suppliers including Bhole Baba, Premier Agri Foods, and Vyshnavi Dairy to laboratories for testing. These samples reportedly tested adulterated (containing vanaspati/vegetable fat) at CFTRI, Mysuru. (NOT ANIMAL FAT) Despite receiving adverse lab reports, the SIT alleges that no punitive action was taken, and the same suppliers continued to supply ghee to TTD. SIT Questions YV Subba Reddy for Nearly 8 Hours On Thursday, the SIT visited Hyderabad and questioned former TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy at his residence as he is also petitioner demanding how CM aligned animal fat is mixed in Laddu making. The inquiry lasted almost eight hours. After the questioning, Subba Reddy, for the first time, spoke openly and exclusively to Zee Media: “I am one of the petitioners seeking justice. As the CM Chandra Babu Naidu said animal fat was mixed in laddu preparation, the truth must come out. The government is now projecting and mentioned as my PA is Chinna Appanna demanded bribes from ghee suppliers. I want to clarify: he was not my PA he worked with me when I was MP in 2019 He left long ago and has worked with other MPs from Andhra Pradesh. Currently, he is working with the AP Government in Delhi. I am not the kind of person who would cheat Lord Balaji for money. No one would do such a terrible thing. I am a strong devotee of Lord Balaji. I have fully cooperated with the SIT officers. I am ready to attend again in the future as well. I will extend complete support to the SIT team. I demand that the real facts must come out.” Mr Reddy spoke with Zee Media.
