Noida, Uttar Pradesh:CM Sukhu reviews Himachal Niketan Project in Delhi, sets six-month deadline for completion New Delhi : Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inspected the ongoing construction work of Himachal Niketan at Dwarka in the national capital on Monday and directed officials to ensure that the project is completed within the next six months. During his visit, the Chief Minister reviewed the project's progress, which is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 145 crore. Upon completion, Himachal Niketan will have 107 rooms, along with a range of modern facilities, including a restaurant, banquet hall, multipurpose hall, meeting hall, dormitories, parking spaces, landscaped gardens, and electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. Sukhu said the new facility, equipped with nearly five-star amenities, would provide significant relief for people from Himachal Pradesh visiting New Delhi for medical treatment, education, and other essential purposes. He said the state government remains sensitive to the needs of its people and has therefore developed additional infrastructure in the national capital to provide comfortable and affordable accommodation. "The state government aims to ensure that residents of Himachal Pradesh do not face inconvenience while staying in Delhi. Himachal Niketan will serve as a modern and accessible facility for students, patients and other visitors," the Chief Minister said, while stressing the importance of timely completion of the project. Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha, Kuldeep Singh Pathania, who was present during the inspection, appreciated the state's initiative. He noted that a large number of students and patients from Himachal Pradesh travel to Delhi each year, and that the new Niketan would significantly improve their stay. Principal Secretary, Public Works Department (PWD), Devesh Kumar, briefed the Chief Minister on the project's technical and construction details and its current status. State Congress President Vinay Kumar, Principal Resident Commissioner Ajay Yadav, Officer on Special Duty to the Chief Minister, Col (Retd) K.S. Banshtu, and senior officers of the PWD department accompanied the Chief Minister during the inspection. The project is expected to strengthen Himachal Pradesh's infrastructure presence in the national capital and improve facilities for its residents visiting Delhi. (ANI)

New Delhi, December 15 (ANI) The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached movable and immovable properties worth Rs 5.41 crore belonging to agents and their family members in connection with a case in which people were sent to USA illegally through the dunky route. ED's Jalandhar zonal office attached properties derived out of or equivalent to the Proceeds of Crime generated by various agents namely Shubham Sharma, Jagjit Singh and Surmukh Singh, who were involved in sending persons to USA illegally through the dunky route. The attached properties include agricultural land, residential premises, business premises and bank accounts in the names of such agents and their family members, said the ED in a statement. ED initiated an investigation on the basis of various First Information Reports registered by Punjab Police and Haryana Police under various sections of BNS 2023 (erstwhile IPC 1860) and Immigration Act, 1983 related to deportation of 330 Indian Nationals to India on military cargo planes in February 2025 by the USA government as those 330 persons entered USA illegally. ED investigation revealed that these agents and their associates used to cheat gullible people by luring them under the pretext of sending them to the USA legally and charged hefty amounts for this. However, subsequently they used to send people via dangerous routes through various South American countries and they were made to cross over into the USA illegally through the USA-Mexico border. Throughout the way, people were tortured, extorted for even more money and made to commit illegal acts. These agents and their associates generated proceeds of crime by cheating various persons on false pretexts and obtaining large sums from them. Previously, ED conducted searches in this case on July 9, 2025 and July 11, 2025 at 19 locations under the provisions of Prevention of Money Laundering Act, wherein incriminating documents and materials were found and recovered including bogus immigration stamp, bogus visa stamp, records and digital devices.

Noida, Uttar Pradesh:ED seizes Rs 79 crore properties of Punjab firm involved in water pollution Jalandhar, In a money laundering probe related to an environmental crime, the Enforcement Directorate attached properties, including land, building and plant and machinery, worth Rs 79.93 crore belonging to a Punjab-based company involved in water pollution, an official said on Monday. The Enforcement Directorate (ED), Jalandhar Zonal Office, provisionally attached the immovable properties of Malbros International Pvt Ltd on Saturday in the money laundering investigation related to environmental crime, under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002. The ED initiated an investigation based on a criminal complaint filed by the Punjab Pollution Control Board against Malbros International for violating the provisions of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, by injection of untreated wastewater through reverse boring into deep aquifers. The ED investigation revealed that the company (with its industrial unit at village Mansoorwal, Tehsil Zira, District Ferozepur) was involved in the generation and acquisition of Proceeds of Crime by deliberately causing pollution of groundwater by persistently and covertly injecting untreated effluents into deep aquifers through reverse boring. The company was also accused of repeatedly discharging wastewater onto land, drains, and an adjacent sugar mill. Its daily functioning involved persistent illegal discharge of untreated effluents into land and groundwater, causing large-scale irreparable ecological damage in the form of water pollution and consequent health hazards, causing crop loss, cattle deaths and serious health impacts for residents of villages around its premises, said a statement. Earlier, searches were conducted at six locations on July 16, 2024, and an amount of Rs 78.15 lakh cash was seized from the premises of Malbros International Pvt Ltd and its Directors under the provisions of Section 17 of the PMLA, 2002. In a separate case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Shimla, teams conducted search operations at eight premises located in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab on Saturday in connection with an ongoing investigation into a large-scale fake/fictitious cryptocurrency-based Ponzi/Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) scam. The perpetrators of the scam allegedly duped lakhs of investors belonging to the states of Himachal Pradesh and Punjab to the tune of Rs 2,300 crore The search operations conducted by the ED resulted in the freezing of three lockers and bank balances/fixed deposits totalling Rs 1.2 crore. The ED also recovered incriminating documents relating to investments made in numerous immovable properties, including benami properties, which were acquired by the accused individuals by utilising proceeds of crime (PoC) generated through the Ponzi scheme.

Noida, Uttar Pradesh:LOS ANGELES (AP) — Federal authorities said Monday that they foiled a plot to bomb multiple sites of two U.S. companies on New Year’s Eve in Southern California after arresting members of an extremist anti-capitalist and anti-government group. The four suspects were arrested Friday in the Mojave Desert east of Los Angeles as they were rehearsing their plot, First Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli said during a news conference. Officials showed reporters surveillance aerial footage of the suspects moving a large black object in the desert to a table. Officials said they were able to make the arrests before the suspects assembled a functional explosive device. In the criminal complaint, the four suspects named are Audrey Illeene Carroll, 30; Zachary Aaron Page, 32; Dante Gaffield, 24; and Tina Lai, 41. They are all from the Los Angeles area, Essayli said. Officials did not describe a motive but said they are members of an offshoot of a group dubbed the Turtle Island Liberation Front. The group calls for decolonization, tribal sovereignty and “the working class to rise up and fight back against capitalism,” according to the criminal complaint. The term “Turtle Island” is used by some Indigenous peoples to describe North America in a way that reflects its existence outside of the colonial boundaries put in place by the U.S. and Canada. It comes from Indigenous creation stories where the continent was formed on the back of a giant turtle. Officials also found “Free Palestine” flyers at the desert campsite where the suspects were working with the bomb-making materials. The charges against each suspect include conspiracy and possession of a destructive device. Essayli said additional charges were expected in coming weeks. It wasn’t immediately clear if the suspects had attorneys, and The Associated Press was unable to reach family members. AP also sent Turtle Island Liberation Front's social media accounts messages asking for comment but did not get a response. Essayli said Carroll last month created a detailed plan to bomb five or more business locations across Southern California on New Year’s Eve. He declined to name the companies but described them as “Amazon-type” logistical centers. “Carroll’s bomb plot was explicit,” Essayli said. “It included step-by-step instructions to build IEDs... and listed multiple targets across Orange County and Los Angeles." The plan included planting backpacks filled with complex pipe bombs that were set to be detonated simultaneously at midnight on New Year’s Eve at five locations, according to officials and the criminal complaint. New Year’s Eve was identified as an opportune time in the plan that stated “fireworks will be going off at this time so explosions will be less likely to be noticed," according to the investigation. The eight-page handwritten plan titled “OPERATION MIDNIGHT SUN” stated more locations could be added. The locations were identified as property and facilities operated by two separate companies tied to activities affecting interstate and foreign commerce, according to the complaint. Two of the group’s members also had discussed plans for future attacks targeting Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents and vehicles with pipe bombs in 2026, according to the criminal complaint. Carroll noted “that would take some of them out and scare the rest of them,’” according to the complaint. The plans were discussed both at an in-person meeting with members in Los Angeles and through an encrypted messaging app, Essayli said. Photos included in the court documents show a desert campsite with what investigators said were bomb-making materials strewn across plastic folding tables. The suspects “all brought bomb-making components to the campsite, including various sizes of PVC pipes, suspected potassium nitrate, charcoal, charcoal powder, sulfur powder, and material to be used as fuses, among others,” the complaint states. The plan included instructions on how to manufacture the bombs and also how to avoid leaving evidence behind that could be traced back to the group, officials said. The suspects recently had acquired precursor chemicals and other items, including purchases from Amazon, according to the complaint. The FBI moved in last week as they rehearsed the attack in the desert near Twentynine Palms, California, officials said. “They had everything they needed to make an operational bomb at that location,” Essayli said. Authorities issued search warrants and found posters for the Turtle Island Liberation Front at Carroll's home that called for “Death to America,” and “Death to ICE,” Essayli said. In Page's residence, police found a copy of the detailed bomb plan, he added. Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell said while federal and local officials disagree on the Trump administration's immigration raids, they come together still to protect residents. The LAPD does not stop people or take action for any reason related to immigration status, and it doesn’t enforce immigration laws, a practice that has been in place for 45 years. “The successful disruption of this plot is a powerful testament to the strength of our unified response,” McDonnell said. The suspects were taken into custody without incident. They were scheduled to appear in court in Los Angeles Monday afternoon.

Noida, Uttar Pradesh:Mohali A kabaddi player was shot dead after unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants opened indiscriminate fire during a kabaddi tournament in Sector 79 of Mohali on Monday evening, police said. The incident occurred during a kabaddi match in the Sohana area, triggering panic among players, organisers, and spectators at the venue. According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Harmandeep Singh Hans, two to three assailants arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire before fleeing the spot. "A kabaddi match was taking place in Sohana when two or three people opened fire there. The victim, Rana Balachauria, a kabaddi player, was injured in the shooting and was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition," the SSP said. The injured player was later identified as Kanwar Digvijay Singh, also known as Rana Balachauria. Fortis Hospital Mohali confirmed that the 30-year-old kabaddi player succumbed to his injuries. In a statement, the hospital said, "Mr Kanwar Digvijay Singh was brought to Fortis Hospital Mohali at 6:05 PM on December 15, 2025, with gunshot injuries. Despite immediate clinical assessment and efforts by the medical team, he was declared dead. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones." Following the firing, police and other security forces rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area to prevent further disturbance. A forensic team also arrived at the venue and collected samples and other evidence to support the investigation. Police officials said the investigation is underway to identify the attackers and determine the motive behind the crime. Senior police officers are monitoring the investigation. Further details are awaited as the probe continues.

Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh:बेरोजगार युवाकों को विदेश में नौकरी का मौका एचपीएसईडीसी और श्रम व रोजगार विभाग करेगा आयोजन कृषि मंत्री प्रो. चंद्र कुमार होंगे होंगे कार्यक्रम के मुख्यातिथि प्रदेश के कृषि एवं पशुपालन मंत्री प्रो. चंद्र कुमार बतौर मुख्यातिथि शिरकत करेंगे विदेश में रोजगार के इच्छुक युवाओं के लिए अच्छी खबर है। जिला मुख्यालय धर्मशाला के दाड़ी स्थित आईटीआई में मंगलवार को इंटरव्यू का आयोजन किया जा रहा है। क्षेत्रीय रोजगार अधिकारी अक्षय कुमार ने बताया कि कैंपस इंटरव्यू का आयोजन हिमाचल प्रदेश राज्यइलेक्ट्रोनिक डिवेलपमेंट कारपोरेशन (एचपीएसईडीसी)और श्रम व रोजगार विभाग की ओर से किया जा रहा है। इंटरव्यू में प्रदेश के कृषि एवं पशुपालन मंत्री प्रो. चंद्र कुमार बतौर मुख्यातिथि शिरकत करेंगे। उन्होंने बताया कि इंटरव्यू के लिए वेकेंसी डिलीवरी बॉयज की आई है, जिसके लिए वेतन 70 हजार रुपये से एक लाख रुपये रखा गया है। उन्होंने बताया कि कई बार देखा गया है कि युवा विदेशों में नौकरी की चाह में धोखाधड़ी का शिकार हो रहे थे, जिस पर सरकार ने नजर रखने के लिए अपने स्तर पर विदेशों में नौकरी के लिए इंटरव्यू आयोजित करने का निर्णय लिया है। सरकार का प्रयास है कि प्रदेश के जो युवा विदेश में नौकरी के लिए जाएं, वे वहां सुरक्षित रहें और सुरक्षित वापिस आएं। इसके अलावा दसवीं पास युवा, जिनके पास पासपोर्ट है, ऐसे युवाओं के लिए वेयरहाउस के भी पद हैं। इसके लिए भी इंटरव्यू भी मंगलवार को आईटीआई दाड़ी में आयोजित किया जाएगा。

ED ने मालब्रोज इंटरनेशनल की 79.93 करोड़ रुपये की संपत्तियाँ अस्थाई अटैच कीं

Firozpur, Punjab:प्रवर्तन निदेशालय (ईडी), जालंधर जोनल कार्यालय ने 13.12.2025 को मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग मामले में कार्रवाई करते हुए एम/एस मालब्रोज इंटरनेशनल प्राइवेट लिमिटेड की लगभग 79.93 करोड़ रुपये की अचल संपत्तियों को अस्थायी रूप से अटैच किया है। इन संपत्तियों में जमीन, इमारत और प्लांट व मशीनरी शामिल हैं। यह कार्रवाई धन शोधन निवारण अधिनियम (PMLA), 2002 के तहत की गई है। यह मामला पर्यावरण अपराध से जुड़ा हुआ है। ईडी ने यह जांच पंजाब प्रदूषण नियंत्रण बोर्ड द्वारा एम/एस मालब्रोज इंटरनेशनल प्राइवेट लिमिटेड के खिलाफ दर्ज आपराधिक शिकायत के आधार पर शुरू की थी। शिकायत में जल (प्रदूषण निवारण और नियंत्रण) अधिनयम 1974 के उल्लंघन का आरोप है, जिसमें बिना उपचारित अपशिष्ट जल को रिवर्स बोरिंग के जरिए गहरे जलभृतों में डालने की बात सामने आई है। जांच में सामने आया है कि एम/एस मालब्रोज इंटरनेशनल प्राइवेट लिमिटेड की औद्योगिक इकाई (गांव मंसूरवाल, तहसील जीरा, जिला फिरोजपुर) द्वारा जानबूझकर और लगातार बिना उपचारित अपशिष्ट जल को रिवर्स बोरिंग के माध्यम से गहरे जल स्रोतों में डाला गया। इसके अलावा बार-बार जमीन, नालों और पास की शुगर मिल में भी गंदा पानी छोड़ा गया। इससे जमीन और भूजल में गंभीर प्रदूषण फैला, जिससे बड़े स्तर पर पर्यावरण को नुकसान हुआ। इसके कारण फसलों को नुकसान, पशुओं की मौत और आसपास के गांवों के लोगों के स्वास्थ्य पर गंभीर असर पड़ा। इससे पहले 16.07.2024 को छह अलग-अलग स्थानों पर तलाशी ली गई थी, जहां से एम/एस मालब्रोज इंटरनेशनल प्राइवेट लिमिटेड और इसके निदेशकों के परिसरों से 78.15 लाख रुपये नकद जब्त किए गए थे। यह कार्रवाई भी PMLA, 2002 की धारा 17 के तहत की गई थी। मामले की आगे की जांच जारी है।
