In a major breakthrough, State Special Operation Cell (#SSOC), Amritsar in a joint operation with Counter Intelligence, #Pathankot busts gangster-terror network & arrests two operatives : Harpreet Singh & Navpreet Singh and recovers a Glock 9mm pistol along with ammunition. Preliminary investigation reveals that the arrested accused were working on the directions of #UK-based handler, who had arranged the weapon and tasked them to conduct recce of specific targets in border districts #Gurdaspur, #Batala & #Amritsar & were planning targeted killings to create panic and communal disturbance in the state. Earlier, two members of the same module were arrested and a hand grenade & pistol were recovered from them. The fresh arrests have been made during the probe of the same case. Further investigation is underway to expose and dismantle the entire network, including its backward and forward linkages.
