Delhi: On the US-Pakistan relationship, Congress MP Manish Tewari says, "The US military and the Pakistani military have had a historical relationship... President Trump should remember that Osama bin Laden was found in Abbottabad and not in Allahabad. While the Pakistanis were taking money from the USA, they were also giving shelter and refuge to the most wanted terrorist... The constant problems that Pakistan has with all its neighbours. They are now in an open fight with Afghanistan... The Trump administration seriously needs to reflect upon its relationship with Pakistan because Pakistan is a force of destabilisation. It is not a country which has a military, but it is a military which has a country. They have always been nurturing these snakes in their backyard..." He adds, "The current Trump administration seems to be very interested in reestablishing a hyphenation between India and Pakistan. But that is not going to happen because India is a far larger economy and has its own place in global affairs. India has, over a period of time, become a very resilient country in many, many respects. But obviously, these are geopolitical trends and currents that should be watched carefully."
