Sh. Jasvir Singh Garhi, your recent video where you stated that leaders “run shouting to their fathers the High Court & Supreme Court” is deeply offensive, irresponsible and wholly unbecoming of the Chairman of the Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission. Constitutional courts are guardians of citizens’ fundamental rights — not targets for political ridicule. Such remarks, coming from a statutory authority, prima facie amount to criminal contempt as they tend to scandalise and lower the authority of the judiciary, besides undermining public faith in the rule of law. This reflects a disturbing disregard for constitutional values and institutional dignity. I demand that you immediately withdraw these remarks and tender an unconditional public apology, failing which appropriate legal remedies will be pursued.
