Indian Husband of Sarabjeet Kaur filed a new petition through Ali Changezi Sandhu Advocate for subsistence of marriage by nullifying her Nikkah with a Pakistani without obtaining divorce from Indian husband = 24.2.2026 Kernal Singh -Indian husband of Sarabjeet Kaur- filed a fresh petition in Lahore High Court, Lahore for nullifying marriage of Sarabjeet with Nasir Hussain as she did not follow the due porcess of law as determined by Federal Shariat Court and constitutional courts for a married non-Muslim woman to marry a Muslim male after conversion. According to Ali Changezi Sandhu Advocate, Constitutional Courts of Pakistan especially Federal Shariat Court set principles for a married non-Muslim woman to marry a Muslim such as - She needs judicial divorce as per her domestic laws - She needs to invite her non-Muslim husband to embrace Islam in presence of two witnesses and await for 90 days to dissolve marriage if he denies the invitation. After, Dissolution of marriage, she may marry to Muslim. During existence of previous marriage, cohabitation or physical relationship based on subsequent marriage will be termed as "Zinnah". Thus, prayer to initiate criminal proceedings over the acharges of Zinnah has been made against Nasir Hussain.
