The accused, namely Karamvir Kaju, was arrested on 11.03.2026 after a sustained chase across multiple states. The arrested accused has been identified as Karamvir Kaju (38 years), S/o Jai Narayan, R/o Village Soldha, District Jhajjar, Haryana. He was wanted in nine heinous criminal cases registered in Delhi and Haryana, including offences of murder, attempt to murder, extortion, dacoity, criminal trespass, criminal intimidation, and violations under the Arms Act. During the operation, one fake passport and a Hyundai Venue car were recovered from his possession. Further investigation led to the recovery of two fake Aadhaar cards and one fake voter ID card at the instance of the accused.
INFORMATION AND OPERATION
The accused Karamvir Kaju had been granted interim bail for a period of three weeks by the Hon'ble Court on 20.06.2024 in a murder case registered at PS K.N.K. Marg, Delhi. However, after the expiry of the interim bail period, he failed to surrender before the court and absconded. Subsequently, he was declared a Proclaimed Offender in May 2025 by the concerned court. Since then, the accused remained absconding and was actively evading arrest until his recent apprehension by the Special Cell team.
A dedicated team comprising Insp. Pawan Kumar, SI Navdeep, HC Mahesh, HC Neeraj, and HC Sanjay was constituted to trace and apprehend the absconding accused Karamvir Kaju. The team worked meticulously on every lead and collected inputs through both technical surveillance and manual intelligence. Several raids were conducted at different locations, including Rohtak, Gurugram, Jaipur, and Haridwar, but the accused managed to evade arrest.
The team immediately initiated a chase towards Sikar, Rajasthan, while conducting searches and checks at various hotels and other suspected locations along the route. Finally, in the wee hours of 11.03.2026, the team successfully zeroed in on the accused at a hotel situated on NH-08, Kotputli, Rajasthan, where he was apprehended without giving him any opportunity to escape.
At the time of arrest, the accused was travelling in a white Hyundai Venue car, and during the search of the vehicle, one fake passport was recovered.
In this regard, a case FIR under sections 319(2)/338/336(3) BNS and Section 12 of the Passport Act has been registered at PS Special Cell, and further investigation is in progress.
Background & Criminal History
The arrested accused Karamvir Kaju is a notorious sharp-shooter of the Rohit Godara - Jitender Gogi gang and is considered a close associate and trusted aide of gangster Rohit Godara, who is currently operating from abroad.
After being granted interim bail in case FIR No. 06/2019, U/s 302/1208/34 IPC and 25/27 Arms Act, PS K.N.K. Marg, Delhi, the accused Karamvir Kaju absconded and remained in continuous contact with gangster Rohit Godara. In order to evade arrest, he frequently changed his hideouts and ultimately managed to cross the border into Nepal, where he stayed for about one year.
Before fleeing from the country, in December 2024, the accused allegedly prepared his cousin Vijay and two other associates to carry out a grenade attack on two clubs in Gurugram on the instructions of gangsters Rohit Godara and Goldy Brar, with the motive of extorting money from the club owners.
In connection with this attack, a case was registered by Gurugram Police under the provisions of the UAPA and the Explosive Substances Act. Subsequently, the investigation was taken over by the NIA, which registered a fresh case under the UAPA, the Explosive Substances Act, and Section 25 of the Arms Act.
After staying outside the country for nearly one year, accused Karamvir Kaju returned to India in September 2025. Thereafter, he continued to evade arrest by frequently shifting his hideouts and stayed at various locations, including Assam, Goa, Baddi, and Mumbai.
For the last 2-3 months, he had been staying in Pundri, District Kaithal, Haryana. During this period, with the assistance of associates linked to gangster Rohit Godara, he procured a fake passport. He had reportedly been assigned major criminal tasks by the Rohit Godara Jitender Gogi gang, after which he planned to flee abroad using the forged passport.
The timely arrest of the accused by the Special Cell has averted potential major attacks on rival gangs and businessmen. Further interrogation of the accused and investigation of the case are in progress.
