चेन्नई के पुरसैयवक्कम में भारी बारिश के बीच तीन मंजिला इमारत ढही; तीन लोग बचाव

A three-storey apartment building collapsed in Chennai’s Purasaiwakkam area. Heavy rain has been lashing Chennai for the past few days. Even yesterday (02.12.25) evening, several parts of the city experienced heavy showers. In this situation, it has been forecast that today (03.12.25) there will be heavy rain in the districts of Chennai, Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur, and Chengalpattu. Earlier, due to the heavy rain that fell yesterday (02.12.25), waterlogging occurred in many parts of Chennai. In some places, water rose up to waist level. Because of this, motorists and the general public suffered greatly. While heavy rain has been continuing like this, all of a sudden today a three-storey apartment building collapsed in the Purasaiwakkam area of Chennai. The building is located near Dargah Street in Purasaiwakkam. Shops were functioning on the ground floor of this building, while families were living on the upper floors. In this situation, suddenly last night (02.12.25) a portion of the building unexpectedly collapsed. With a loud noise, the wall of the building came crashing down. People in the area were shocked. They immediately informed the fire and rescue personnel and the police. Meanwhile, locals began efforts to rescue those trapped under the debris. It was found that a total of three people had been trapped under the rubble of the collapsed building. They were safely rescued and sent to Kilpauk Medical College Hospital for treatment. Fire and rescue personnel and the police are continuing to search to find out whether anyone else is still trapped under the debris. The exact reason for the collapse of the building is not yet known. However, it is being said that the building may have collapsed as it could not withstand the continuous heavy rain. The police and fire and rescue personnel are conducting an inquiry regarding this incident. This incident has created great commotion in the Purasaiwakkam area.
