Ganderbal: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has announced winter vacations for all Government Degree Colleges across the Union Territory. As per an order issued by the Higher Education Department, Government Degree Colleges falling under the Winter Zone in both the Kashmir and Jammu divisions will observe winter vacations from December 24, 2025, to February 14, 2026. Students in Ganderbal welcomed the government’s decision, stating that the winter break was the need of the hour due to harsh weather conditions. They said extreme cold and snowfall make it difficult to attend classes and commute, and the vacation period will provide much-needed relief during the peak winter season.
