Ganderbal, Oct 3: The Meteorological Department in Srinagar has predicted a strong western disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir from Saturday, October 4. However, Ganderbal witnessed its impact earlier today, as light rainfall disrupted ongoing agricultural activities. Farmers harvesting paddy in several areas of Ganderbal were forced to halt their work after sudden showers dampened the fields. “Due to the rainfall, we had to stop harvesting paddy. The grass and grains have become wet and are getting damaged,” said a local farmer. The untimely rainfall has raised concerns among farmers, as the paddy harvest is at its peak season in the district.
