Srinagar,
Vivek Bali, State President of Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP), Jammu & Kashmir, has expressed strong resentment over the recent incident involving Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, where the niqab of a girl was allegedly dragged during a public event. Bali termed the incident serious and unacceptable, stating that all religions must be respected and the sanctity, dignity, and honour of women should be upheld at all times. Referring to reactions in Jammu and Kashmir, he said the issue is being politicised by the PDP. He questioned the party’s intent, alleging that if PDP was genuinely concerned, an FIR should have been lodged immediately instead of doing so later. Bali said the matter ultimately rests with Nitish Kumar, who must decide how seriously the issue is to be addressed. He added that SBSP expects politics to be kept away from such sensitive incidents and called for efforts to create a positive and harmonious atmosphere across the country.
