Srinagar: All Party Sikh Coordination Committee chairman and senior political leader, Jagmohan Singh Raina, reacted to the concerns of apple growers. He said that the horticulture sector, particularly apple cultivation, is the backbone of Jammu and Kashmir’s economy, and the government must take urgent steps to safeguard the interests of growers. Raina emphasized that the community of orchardists is facing multiple challenges, including rising transportation costs, lack of market support, and frequent natural adversities. He urged authorities to provide proper compensation, ensure smooth transportation of apple produce, and open more market avenues so that growers receive fair prices for their hard work.
