Senior Vice President of Apni Party district Budgam, Mukhtar Ahmad Dar, has expressed deep concern over the reported death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, amid the ongoing conflict in the region. In a statement issued to the media, Mukhtar Ahmad Dar termed the situation in Iran as “deeply worrying” and said that the developments have caused anxiety among people in Kashmir, especially families whose relatives are currently in Iran for education and business purposes. Appeal to Government Authorities Mukhtar Ahmad Dar appealed to the Lieutenant Governor’s administration and the Union Home Minister to take immediate steps to ensure the safe return of Kashmiri students and businessmen stranded in the Iran war zone. He urged the authorities to establish proper communication channels and evacuation measures if required. He stated that the safety and well-being of Kashmiri citizens abroad should be treated as a top priority, adding that many families in Budgam and other districts are extremely concerned about their loved ones. Call for Peaceful Protest Addressing the general public, Dar emphasized that while people have the democratic right to express their emotions and concerns, protests must remain peaceful. He strongly appealed to the youth and the wider community to avoid violence, stone pelting, or damage to public property. “Violence is not the solution. Peaceful protest is the only way to convey our sentiments in a responsible and dignified manner,” he said. Maintaining Law and Order Mukhtar Ahmad Dar also urged people to cooperate with the administration to maintain peace and stability in the region. He said that Kashmir has already witnessed difficult times in the past and that maintaining communal harmony and public order is essential. Meanwhile, authorities continue to monitor the situation closely, and security arrangements remain in place in sensitive areas to prevent any untoward incidents.
