Reacting sharply to Omar Abdullah’s remarks over the Rajya Sabha elections, BJP spokesperson Altaf Thakur accused the NC leader of misleading people and concealing internal party cracks. Thakur said, “The BJP’s victory is not horse trading; it’s the outcome of resentment against Omar’s deceitful politics.” He added that several NC MLAs voted against their own candidates, proving the trust deficit within the party. Calling Omar’s leadership “dictatorial,” Thakur asserted that BJP’s disciplined structure and people-centric governance were the reasons behind the win. He further claimed that PDP’s votes were regionally motivated, not in BJP’s favor, yet the victory showed the party’s growing ground presence and acceptance across Jammu and Kashmir.
