Traffic Police are appealing to vehicle owners and drivers to participate in the upcoming National Lok Adalat on December 13, 2025, and settle their pending traffic challans at significantly reduced rates — with full waivers in some cases. The nationwide legal settlement drive gives citizens the last opportunity this year to legally clear outstanding fines without lengthy court procedures. According to officials, only minor and compoundable offences are eligible for settlement, including helmet and seatbelt violations, jumping traffic signals, normal over-speeding, wrong parking, and absence of valid PUC certificates. DySP Traffic Banihal–Ramban axis, Surinder Pal Singh, said that the National Lok Adalat has emerged as an indispensable platform for vehicle owners to resolve pending challans through a quick, affordable and binding legal process. “Instead of dragging minor violations through lengthy channels, the Lok Adalat traffic challan process ensures fast and hassle-free settlements,” he said, appealing to vehicle owners to visit their respective courts on December 13 to get challans resolved. He added that the process is not just about clearing fines, but also about saving time and money, maintaining clean vehicle records, and preventing future complications. Officials noted that the National Lok Adalat initiative reduces the burden on regular courts, allowing judicial resources to focus on more complex cases. For motorists, it offers a fast-track route to settle pending challans and move ahead with confidence and compliance.
