Ganderbal : As the holy month of Ramadan progresses, Muslims around the world continue to observe fasting and engage in acts of worship and charity. Among these important obligations is the payment of Sadaqat-ul-Fitr, a mandatory charity given before Eid-ul-Fitr prayers. In an exclusive conversation with Salaam TV , spoke to Mufti Riyaz Ahmad about the religious significance of Sadaqat-ul-Fitr and its importance during Ramadan. Mufti Riyaz Ahmad said that Sadaqat-ul-Fitr serves as a means of purifying one’s fast from any shortcomings and helps the poor and needy celebrate Eid with dignity. He further stated that Sadaqat-ul-Fitr should be paid before the Eid prayer so that the underprivileged can meet their basic needs on the festive day. Delaying it beyond the Eid prayer reduces its spiritual value, he added.
