The Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council organised the first-ever snow festival at the famous tourist destination of Sonamarg, drawing participation from around 200 players. During the snow festival, participants played various games including cricket, volleyball, football, and other sports, all conducted on snow, making the event unique and challenging for the players. The main objective of organising the snow festival is to promote winter sports and boost winter tourism in Sonamarg, which is known for its scenic beauty and heavy snowfall during winter. One of the participants said that playing football on snow was a great experience. “We played football here on snow. We feel very good, and we want such events to continue in the future as well,” She said.
