Prior to this, a meeting was held at the Town Hall Pulwama under the leadership of senior Congress leader Abdul Rahim Rather and District President Pulwama, Umar Jan, along with other district officials. On the occasion, Congress leaders criticized the current central government, saying that the BJP has caused significant damage to democracy.
