Power Curtailment Schedule Revised in Gulmarg Sub division Amid Heavy Snowfall In view of heavy snowfall and harsh winter conditions across Kashmir, the Power Development Department (PDD) has revised the electricity curtailment schedule in Sub-Divisions Gulmarg Sub division to ensure smoother power supply during the winter months. Authorities have appealed to consumers to use electricity judiciously and avoid operating multiple electrical gadgets simultaneously, especially during peak hours, to prevent overloading and disruptions. In the Tangmarg division, new machinery has been installed at power stations to enhance electricity supply and improve system efficiency. Speaking exclusively to the media, AEE PDD Tangmarg, Manzoor Ahmed Qadri, stated that the department is committed to providing power as per the revised schedule throughout the winter season. He informed that electricity capacity at the Nahalpora Grid Station has been significantly enhanced, and new power transmission wires have been installed from Tangmarg to strengthen and stabilize supply in the area. Mr. Qadri further urged residents to strictly adhere to the power schedule and refrain from using appliances that are under a blanket ban, emphasizing that responsible consumption is essential to manage limited winter power resources. He also highlighted that a majority of villages in Sub-Division Gulmarg have already been brought under smart metering. As a result, power cuts have reduced considerably. The smart metering system has curbed illegal power usage and ensured scheduled and transparent electricity supply, greatly benefiting consumers. The PDD reiterated its commitment to maintaining uninterrupted power supply during winter while seeking public cooperation for effective power management.
