Peaceful protests continued for the second consecutive day in the Hanjiwera–Singhpora area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district following reports regarding the martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei. Hundreds of Shia Muslims assembled at Hanjiwera and marched along the Srinagar–Baramulla National Highway towards Singhpora Pattan. The protesters strongly condemned the alleged killing of the Supreme Leader in what they described as an Israeli attack. The demonstrations remained largely peaceful, with participants raising slogans and expressing their grief and anger over the incident. Similar protests were also reported from Hanjiwera payeen, Mirgund, Ahmadpora, and Hartrath areas of Pattan, where people gathered to voice their condemnation and solidarity. Meanwhile, due to the protests, vehicular movement on the Srinagar–Baramulla National Highway was temporarily affected. However, following the timely intervention of Pattan Police, traffic was restored and normal movement resumed on the highway. Authorities continued to monitor the situation to ensure peace and maintain law and order in the area.
