Army's 27 Assam Rifles organised free medical camp for women in Aloosa Bandipora. “Iron Deficiency & Urine Infections among common ailments found” With the aim to educate rural women about hygiene and sanitation, Bandipora Army's 27 Assam Rifles in collaboration with District administration Bandipora on Wednesday organised a free medical camp in Aloosa village of North Kashmir's Bandipora district. Local residents who take advantage of the free medical camp hailed the Army's unique initiative and said that in rural areas people have less awareness about hygiene and sanitary issues. One of the women who spoke to the media said that these camps not only provide opportunity for them to speak freely about the issue but empowers them as it provides awareness about which things women need to take care about. The camp was also open to the general public including elderly people and children. Meanwhile, a senior medical officer Chandni Verma of 27 AR while sharing the details said that around 200 women have been treated in the camps and the common diseases found in women are Iron deficiency, urine infection and cold related disease. She also said that the army will continue its awareness and free medical camps in rural areas in future so that more people can take advantage of its free medical camps.
