Parents of government school students in Ganderbal have expressed concern over the delay in the availability of new textbooks. They said that although students entered their new classes last month, they have still not received fresh textbooks. The parents have appealed to the Education Department to provide the new books at the earliest so that their children can study properly in their new classes. Chief Education Officer Ganderbal, Oneel Kumar Bhat said that the department has scheduled November 24 and November 26 for collecting textbooks from the board. “After collecting the books, we will start distributing them among students,” he said, adding that students are currently studying from old textbooks to ensure that classwork does not suffer.
