Social-political activist Bilal Wani expressed concern over the ongoing debate on changes in the academic curriculum, stating that universities and schools are the primary institutions for learning history. He said that no one has the right to delete chapters related to prominent historical personalities like Syed Ahmad Khan and Muhammad Iqbal, who contributed significantly to intellectual and cultural thought. Referring to famous patriotic line, “Saare Jahan Se Achha Hindustan Hamara,” Wani emphasized the importance of preserving such contributions in academic discourse. He further stated that any attempt to undo or alter history would deprive future generations of knowledge and a proper understanding of the past. “History must be preserved in its entirety so that coming generations receive complete and accurate information,” he added.
