Anantnag: The Agriculture Department Anantnag on Monday launched an important training initiative for farmers by dispatching a vehicle carrying a group of farmers to Punjab Agricultural University. The exposure tour was flagged off by MLA Pahalgam, Altaf Kaloo, at the Housing Colony, Khanabal. Officials from the Agriculture Department said the farmers will be provided with modern and practical training in the cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants. The programme aims to familiarize farmers with advanced agricultural practices so they can adopt improved techniques in their own fields. Speaking to the media , MLA Pahalgam Altaf Kaloo termed the initiative a positive step towards the welfare and upliftment of farmers. He said such exposure programmes play a key role in enhancing farmers’ knowledge and income.
