The Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil, announced the commencement of the AN-32 Courier Service from February 7, 2026. The first flight will operate between Kargil and Srinagar, while the Jammu sector will commence from the following week. The CEC stated in a video message that the service was initially delayed as the road remained open due to the dedicated efforts of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), District Administration Kargil, and Ganderbal Administration. In view of the increasing likelihood of snowfall and adverse weather conditions, the courier service is now being initiated. Passengers travelling between Srinagar, Kargil, and Jammu have been advised to adhere to official advisories and use the online ticketing system. Priority seating will be provided to patients. The CEC also mentioned that a limited number of passengers will be transported from Kargil, keeping in mind temperature and operational considerations. He appreciated the efforts of the District Administration, particularly Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Kumar and Additional Deputy Commissioner Imteeaz Kacho, along with their team, for working towards making the system more efficient and transparent. The CEC appealed to the public to extend their cooperation for the smooth and effective operation of the AN-32 Courier Service for 2026–27. Any issues may be reported directly to the Deputy Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner, or their respective offices.
