Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari blamed the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the abrogation of Article 370 and the subsequent bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir into two union Territories. Speaking to the media, Bukhari said that the missteps of the PDP during its time in power paved the way for the constitutional changes made in August 2019. "It was the PDP''''s political blunders that led to the abrogation of Article 370 and the division of the erstwhile state. " he said. Bukhari also reacted to the Congress party''''s ongoing protest, calling it a welcome step but added that the party should also involve other regional parties. "Congress should invite the National Conference and other political parties ," he said. Recalling his party''''s stand in 2020, Bukhari said, "When we raised the demand for the restoration of statehood, we were accused of siding with the BJP. Now, the same demand is being echoed by all parties."
