Shopkeepers said the rush has increased sharply in the last days as people complete their Eid shopping. Many stores dealing in garments and traditional wear reported a steady flow of customers throughout the day. “People are buying clothes for children and family members as part of the Eid celebrations. The market remains busy till late night,” said a garment shop owner. Vendors selling dry fruits, bakery items, and sweets also reported brisk business. Bakeries and confectionery shops have begun stocking traditional Kashmiri delicacies commonly consumed during Eid festivities. In several markets, traffic congestion and crowded streets were reported as shoppers thronged commercial hubs. Authorities have deployed additional traffic personnel in busy areas to regulate the flow of vehicles and pedestrians.
