INTER STATE CELL, CRIME BRANCH ARRESTS FOUR ACCUSED IN
DIGITAL ARREST & INVESTMENT FRAUD RACKET
• Mule account holders and syndicate operatives apprehended.
• Fake firms, mule accounts, and e-commerce front operations
exposed
• Breakthrough achieved through cyber-forensics, data analytics,
and intelligence collection.
The Inter State Cell of the Crime Branch has achieved a
significant breakthrough in its ongoing crackdown on organized
cyber-enabled financial fraud. In coordinated operations across Delhi
and Haryana, four accused have been arrested for their involvement
in a large-scale “Digital Arrest” and investment fraud syndicate.
BACKGROUND OF COMPLAINT & INVESTIGATION
On 08.10.2025, a cyber-crime complaint was filed by a resident
of Mayur Vihar Phase-I, Delhi, through the National Cyber Crime
Reporting Portal (NCRP), regarding a fraud of ₹42,95,720.
The complainant stated that he was contacted and lured into
installing fake trading applications and joining a fraudulent “tips
group.” The accused induced him to invest under the pretext of IPO
funding and profit withdrawal, eventually causing him to transfer
₹42,95,720 through multiple bank accounts.
Technical investigation revealed that the cheated amount was
routed through 23 bank accounts/wallets, and subsequently
dispersed into 742 accounts/wallets through small, structured
transactions to evade detection.
MAJOR BREAKTHROUGHS & ARRESTS
1. Arrest of Amandeep Singh (R/o Chandar Vihar, Nihal Vihar,
Delhi)
• Provided his personal bank account to syndicate members
for routing fraudulent funds. Facilitated the fraudulent
operations.
2. Arrest of Gurpreet Singh R/o Rohini, Delhi
• Also supplied his personal bank account to the syndicate for
movement of cheated money. Facilitated the fraudulent
operations.
3. Arrest of Suresh Kumar R/o Raja Park, Pitampura, Delhi,
• Procured bank accounts from individuals such as Amandeep
Singh and Gurpreet Singh and sold them to higher-level
syndicate members.
4. Arrest of Ashu Sood R/o Raja Park, Rani Bagh, Delhi
• Purchased bank accounts from account sellers and supplied
them to the syndicate.
• Handled cash rotation related to commission payments
among agents and account suppliers.
ASSETS & EVIDENCE RECOVERED
• Multiple mobile phones and SIM cards seized
• Various Bank accounts identified from which cash
withdrawal was made.
• Fake firms and mule current accounts across several banks
uncovered
TEAM & OPERATIONAL EXECUTION
The operation was executed by a dedicated team led Insp.
Manmeet Maik comprising SI Vikas, ASIs Praveen, Surender, HCs
Sachin, Amit and Monit under the close supervision of Sh. Ramesh
Chander Lamba, ACP/ ISC.
Further investigation is under progress.
