SECOND FAKE MEDICINE FACTORY MANUFACTURING SPURIOUS DRUGS BUSTED, MASTER COORDINATOR NABBED. MASSIVE HAUL OF SPURIOUS DRUGS, OPIOIDS & MACHINERY SEIZED. RELENTLESS PURSUIT BY ANTF LEADS TO BREAKTHROUGH INTERSTATE NARCOTIC/PSYCHOTROPIC NETWORK NEARS COMPLETE COLLAPSE. 9 CARTEL MEMBERS ARRESTED SO FAR. THOSE PLAYING WITH PUBLIC HEALTH WILL FACE ZERO TOLERANCE. Further intensifying the inter-state crackdown on organized narcotics trafficking, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of the Crime Branch has busted another fake factory making spurious medicines/vials. Under the overall supervision of The DCP/ANTF, Sh. Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, a team of Insp Nitesh Kumar supervised by ACP Sh. Satendra Mohan, this major breakthrough comes just days after the exposure of a similar fake pharmaceutical unit in Patna, revealing a deep-rooted and structured criminal enterprise manufacturing spurious medicines and psychotropic substances. The operation also led to the arrest of 9th accused person in the above mentioned FIR. The operation was conducted in connection with FIR No. 273/25 u/s 22 NDPS Act, PS Crime Branch. TEAM AND OPERATION: After technical and human intelligence was used from previous arrests in this case, it emerged that Tanishq, who was arrested last week in a series of arrests, had worked in cahoots with one Arun from Gaya. The ANTF team of Insp Nitesh Kumar, led by SI Vikasdeep, consisting of ASI Sanwar Mal, HC Amit, HC Gulshan, at once dispatched to Gaya and Arun was traced on the instance of accused Tanishq and with the help of thorough police investigation. ARREST AND RECOVERY: Arun was found to be running a fake factory in Gaya, Bihar, which had not got license to manufacture medicines/vials. The drug department team from Gaya was called and the factory was being run without a valid license to manufacture, in absence of mandatory manufacturing and analytical chemists. A huge quantity of equipment, spurious tablets/vials, packing material were found as follows: Recovery: 1. 119800 spurious tablets of Zinc. 2. 42,480 spurious tablets of Azithromycin. 3. 27 Kgs of Paracetamol. 4. 444 spurious ampules of Dilona Aqua. 5. Heavy machinery making large scale medicines. MODUS OPERANDI: The network is involved in producing various opioids/spurious medicines/vials/syrups and pushing the products through bogus medical fronts and regional suppliers/smugglers/peddlers for making huge money. The whole process of procurement of raw material, processing, selling are done in illegal manner, thereby playing with the health of general public at large. Arun processed the illicitly smuggled tramadol powder (more than 5 Kgs worth more than 5 crore in international market) and made tablets in his factory. The tablets were again diverted to be sold through bogus medical fronts at inflated prices. Such tablets are being used in place of heroin. IMPACT: The operations continued with travelling thousands of kilometres in various states in different terrains, high octane car chase with multiple arrests and large recovery/busts of factory/modules along with sustained technical and human surveillance. The operation, based on credible intelligence, sustained and coordinated raids across various states, technical investigation and swift police action, not only dismantled 2 fake factories operating and playing with lives of general public, but also led to arrest of 9 cartel members indulging in moving large scale raw material and processed fake medicines/vials/opioids of psychotropic nature. The action deals a major blow to a wide network taking another step in the direction of CP/Delhi’s vision i.e. Drug Free Delhi. BRIEF PROFILE OF ARUN: Arun(age -59): Originally from Gaya, Bihar, he has started a huge factory in order to make medicines/vials/opioids at large scale to make huge money in a short period of time. He used to work with other cartel members to get raw material and make opioids on huge scale in his factory and pushing back the same for sale through illegal market of opioids/medicines diverting it in other states. CONCLUSION: These arrests mark a significant step in dismantling the narcotics/psychotropic substances trafficking being run by a large group of criminals. The ANTF/Crime Branch continues to pursue further leads to apprehend the other criminals indulging in illegal drug supply. This operation once again underlines the relentless commitment of the ANTF/Crime Branch in cracking down on drug trafficking and moving towards the dream of a drug-free Delhi. (SANJEEV KUMAR YADAV), IPS Deputy Commissioner of Police, ANTF, Delhi
