A HOTEL MANAGER WAS HIT BY A CAR AT MIDNIGHT WHILE TRAVELLING IN HIS CAR AT RTR FLYOVER, VASANT VIHAR, DELHI. MORE THAN TWO HUNDRED CCTV CAMERAS ANALYZED ACROSS DELHI TO TRACE THE CULPRIT. THE OFFENDING VEHICLE TRACED & DRIVER WAS APPREHENDED. OFFENDING VEHICLE MARUTI BALENO CAR ALONGWITH DAMAGED FRONT GLASS RECOVERED. The staff of PS Vasant Vihar, South West District has cracked a blind, hit-and-run case by apprehending accused Gaurav Bhardwaj R/o Greater Kailash Enclave-I, Delhi along with the offending vehicle Maruti Baleno Car with the damaged front glass of the car. INCIDENT, TEAM & ARREST: On 15.09.2025 at around 01:00 PM, a PCR call was received at PS Vasant Vihar wherein the caller reported that his brother Mayank Jain’s Honda City car was hit by a blue Baleno car at about 02:00–03:00 AM at Munirka Flyover. When his brother stepped out of the vehicle, the Baleno driver deliberately hit him and fled from the spot. The front glass of the Baleno car was broken. The caller further informed that his brother was admitted at RR Hospital, Dhaula Kuan for treatment. Accodingly, a case vide FIR No. 221/25, u/s 281/125(b) BNS was registered at PS Vasant Vihar, New Delhi and investigation was taken up. Keeping in view the gravity of the matter, a special team led by Inspector Rakesh Kumar, SHO/PS Vasant Vihar comprising of PSI Prashant, HC Raj Kumar, HC Naresh, HC Naresh, HC Suraj, Ct. Prakash and other staff was constituted under the supervision of Shri Babbar Bhan, ACP/Sub-Division Vasant Vihar to crack the case. The team analyzed more than 200 CCTV cameras installed along the Ring Road from Munirka to Dwarka Mor and Munirka to Rajokri border as well as nearby areas. After sustained efforts, the team traced a suspected blue Maruti Baleno Car with a broken front glass. On enquiry, it was found that the registered owner had passed away two years ago and the car was being used by his family members. His wife informed that all three sons of the deceased were using the said car. When the three sons were questioned, they initially denied having taken the car on the intervening night of 15.09.2025. Subsequently, the mobile numbers of family members and domestic staff were put on surveillance. During CDR analysis and route mapping through CCTV footage, it was established that Gaurav Bhardwaj had taken the car to Dwarka on the night of the incident. Further investigation revealed that the accused had replaced the damaged front glass at a mechanic shop in GK-I the next day. On 20.09.2025, the police team also recovered the replaced broken glass of the offending Baleno car. Finally, on 22.09.2025, accused Gaurav Bhardwaj R/o GK Enclave-I, New Delhi was apprehended and thoroughly interrogated. He confessed to the crime & the offending Maruti Baleno Car was also recovered at his instance. RECOVERY: 1. Offending vehicle Maruti Baleno Car used in the commission of offence. 2.
