KOLKATA\n\nPRESS RELEASE\n\nSPECIAL SECURITY ARRANGEMENTS FOR COMMUTERS ON NEW YEAR’S EVE\n\nKolkata, Date: 30.12.2025\n\nFor ensuring safety, security and easy movement of commuters on New Year’s Eve i.e. on 31.12.2025, Metro Railway has decided to strengthen security arrangements at key Metro stations, including Esplanade, Park Street, Maidan, Rabindra Sadan, DumDum and Dakshineswar.\n\nSpecial arrangements will be made and additional RPF personnel will be deployed to man and regulate the passenger movement to ensure a safe, smooth and hassle-free journey on that day.\n\nAdequate women RPF officers and staff will also be deployed at Park Street Metro station for the convenience of women and children. One Special Team will remain present as a standby force at Park Street, Maidan and Esplanade Metro stations on 31.12.2025 to tackle any emergency situation, if required. One Quick Response Team (QRT) will be kept in readiness as special force for Park Street, Maidan and Esplanade stations for emergency.\n\nAdequate staff will be posted at Central Control, and extensive CCTV monitoring on real time basis will be carried out to ensure round-the-clock surveillance and passenger safety. Queue managers, loud hailers, ropes will be used and other passenger-control measures will be taken to regulate passenger movement at Park Street Metro station. Anti-sabotage checks will also be conducted with the help of dog squad.\n\nIn addition, another Special Team comprising one officer and four staff will be deployed at Park Street Metro station. Adequate number of RPF personnel will be stationed at Park Street, Maidan and Esplanade Metro stations to provide proper guidance, help and assistance to commuters.\n\nIt is to be noted that to facilitate the smooth and fast movement of commuters, Metro Railway will operate additional services at the night of New Year’s Eve in Blue Line. On that day, i.e. 31.12.2025, eight additional services (4 UP & 4 DN) will be operated in Blue Line for the convenience of passengers after 21:40 hrs. \n\nIt is appealed and requested to all concerned for co-operation with Metro staff and security personnel.
