DGP Punjab Police DGPPunjabPolice Acting on specific intelligence, Counter Intelligence Amritsar successfully foils a planned target killing by busting a Madhya Pradesh–based illegal weapons smuggling module. Apprehends one operative and a total of nine pistols have been recovered (seven .32 bore pistols with magazines and five live cartridges, along with two .30 bore pistols with magazines). The weapons were procured to execute a targeted killing arising from inter-gang rivalry in the region. Preliminary investigation reveals that the accused was in contact with illegal weapon suppliers in MadhyaPradesh through social media platforms and was facilitating the flow of arms to criminals in Punjab to support unlawful activities. An FIR under the Arms Act and BNS has been registered at Police Station SSOC Amritsar. Further investigation is in progress to uncover the entire supply chain and identify additional operatives involved.
