Andhra Pradesh: A crocodile sighting in Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district has created panic among locals. Forest department officials confirmed the movement of a crocodile in a pond at Ainavilli Lanka village of Ainavilli mandal and set up a special trap to capture it. Authorities have warned people not to enter the pond or take livestock near the area. However, as the crocodile has not been caught even after four days, officials are now preparing to drain the water and capture it today. It is suspected that this crocodile, along with a few others, may have been washed in during this year’s Godavari floods and could be moving through canals in the Konaseema region, leading to fear and concern among residents. Speaking on this district forest officer Mr Prasad Rao said " so far we spotted one crocodile as villages are saying more than one we are trying to capture, after capturing we let conform if another exists we need villages cooperation we request locals not to stay near by pond till we capture the crocodile." DFO Said.
