Anchor: Travellers and local residents have welcomed the decision of Northern Railway to extend the Special Train Service from Budgam–Banihal up to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, effective from today. Officials said the extended service reflects Northern Railway’s commitment to improving transport infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir, benefiting both locals and visitors alike. Passengers traveling through Train while talking to Media at Sangaldan Railway Station expressed happiness over the move, terming it a major relief for daily commuters, pilgrims and tourists travelling between Kashmir and the Jammu region. The extension is expected to significantly ease travel, reduce road dependency, and ensure safer and more comfortable connectivity, especially during winter months. Travellers also expressed gratitude to the Railway Ministry for the initiative, stating that it will boost tourism, facilitate pilgrimage to the Vaishno Devi shrine, and strengthen rail connectivity with the Kashmir Valley.
