Langate, Sept 17 Marking the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday launched the nationwide health campaign “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan” at Langate Park, near SDH Langate, Kupwara. The campaign, which runs from 17th September to 2nd October 2025, is being held in close convergence with the Ministry of Women and Child Development and will culminate on Gandhi Jayanti. The inaugural function in Langate was graced by several dignitaries, including DDC Chairman Kupwara Irfan Sultan Panditpuri, Principal GMC Handwara Dr. Khursheed Ahmad, Chief Medical Officer Kupwara Dr. Masrat, SSP Handwara Mushtaq Ahmad Choudhary, DDC Member Drugmullah Advocate Amina, and Medical Superintendent Associate District Hospital GMC Handwara. Officials said the campaign’s objective is to ensure saturation of health services for women and children, with a special focus on reaching the “missing cases.” As part of the initiative, health camps offering essential and specialist services for women will be organized nationwide at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs), Community Health Centres (CHCs), and other public health facilities. The dignitaries emphasized that launching this programme on the Prime Minister’s birthday holds special significance, as it symbolizes the government’s commitment to women and child healthcare across the country. The event was seen as a major encouragement for the local community, expected to inspire participation and awareness while strengthening healthcare delivery in remote border districts like Kupwara.
