Protests and shutdowns continue to be observed in parts of Jammu and Kashmir following the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In Bhaderwah, senior BJP leader and MLA Dalip Singh Parihar has said that expressing resentment over the incident is a fundamental right of citizens, but warned that strict action will be taken against anyone who crosses the limits or raises anti-India slogans. Senior BJP leader and MLA Bhaderwah Dalip Singh Parihar, while speaking exclusively to Zee Media, said that protests and bandhs being observed over the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei fall within the democratic rights guaranteed under the Constitution of India. Parihar said that citizens, particularly members of the Shia community and other Muslims who consider Khamenei their religious leader, have the right to express their grief and resentment over the incident. VO:It is worth mentioning that protests and shutdowns were reported from several areas after the killing of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, including parts of the Chenab Valley such as Ramban, Bhaderwah, Doda and Kishtwar.
