GANDERBAL — As the harsh cold continues in Ganderbal ahead of the 40-day period of Chillai Kalan, a prolonged dry spell has started affecting normal life in the district. The absence of snowfall has led to various health concerns, particularly respiratory issues, while water levels in rivers and small canals have also declined. Residents say the dry weather has intensified the cold, making mornings and nights extremely difficult. People in Ganderbal are eagerly waiting for snowfall, hoping it will end the dry spell and bring much-needed relief from the biting cold. A local resident said that the cold has become more severe due to the prolonged dry weather. “We are hopeful that snowfall will occur soon so that people can get relief from this harsh cold,” he said.
