The PDP Women’s Wing in Budgam on Tuesday staged a protest demanding an unconditional apology from Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over the recent veil-pulling incident, calling the act disrespectful and deeply hurtful to women’s dignity. The protesters said the incident amounted to an insult to religious and constitutional values and should not be trivialised. They asserted that public representatives must be held accountable for their actions. The women protesters also demanded an apology from BJP spokesperson Altaf Thakur, accusing him of attempting to justify the incident through his remarks. They said such statements further aggravate public outrage instead of addressing the seriousness of the issue. Raising slogans and holding placards, the PDP Women’s Wing warned that silence or justification from political leaders would only deepen mistrust and alienation, and urged immediate corrective action
