According to police, the accused, identified as Harpal Singh (35), a farmer, was allegedly passing sensitive information related to the Indian Army to a Pakistani intelligence agency. According to police officials, Harpal Singh had been in contact with Pakistan's intelligence agency, the ISI, for about a year. Security agencies received confidential information regarding this matter, which led to increased surveillance and action. The accused was detained during a blockade. During the search, a mobile phone and a CD were reportedly recovered from the accused. Preliminary investigations revealed some Pakistani numbers on the mobile phone, raising suspicions of cross-border connections. The recovered material has been sent for investigation. Police say the accused is a resident of the border area of ​​Ajnala tehsil in Amritsar district. His activities were already under surveillance due to his location near the border.
