Delhi: An accused, Manoj Verma, who used fake female profiles on social media to befriend women, persuade them to share private content, and later extorted money by threatening to circulate the content online or among their relatives, was arrested by police. One mobile phone containing WhatsApp chats, obscene videos, and fake Facebook accounts used in the offence was recovered from him. Investigation is continuing to identify other collaborators and verify involvement of additional mobile numbers and social media accounts.
