धुडिया ह्यूम पाइप ब्रिज 11 बजे वाहनों के लिए खुला; जनता ने सीएम को धन्यवाद

After 21 days Dhudia Hume Pipe Bridge was opened for light vehicles from 11 am onward. Mirik and Dhudia public are happy and thanks to CM Mamata Banerjee. Finally after 21 days Dhudia Hume Pipe Bridge has been completed and from today at 11am the movement of vehicles had been allowed to move from this Bridge. Where as till yesterday the 4 Wheeler had been running from alternative route that was Nol Dara road. And from long route that was through NH110 passing from Kurseong Ghum Pashupati and than Mirik by which the Local public even the driver are facing the problem. And the alternative route which is Nol Dara is very dangerous as this route is very much high and road condition is very bad. 4 days ago one Daily service vehicle had been faced the accident in which 4 person was death in which one pagnenet women was also death. After that that route was closed by the police. And the Transhift was also going in dhudia from last 2 days the passenger who are going from Mirik toward down they come till one side of the bridge and after that they cross the Hume Pipe Bridge by walking and come to other side and than they catch other vehicle and reach to Mirik or Siliguri or other places. And today the Hume Pipe bridge is open for light vehicle and it is official open from 11am onward. By which the Local public of Mirik and Dhudia are very much happy and they Thanks to CM as she had announce that within 15/20 days the alternative route will be open for temporary. Which today it had been open. This 468-metre-long bridge, featuring a 72-metre Hume pipe causeway of 8-metre width, has been built using 132 Hume pipes of 1200 mm diameter. The construction work, which commenced on 10.10.2025, has been completed within 16 days, through round-the-clock efforts under challenging conditions. The old bridge, constructed in 1965, had become structurally vulnerable and therefore the Government of West Bengal had already sanctioned the construction of a new bridge at a cost of ₹54 crore, which is currently progressing in full swing. Yesterday CM had also twite about the Hume Pipe Bridge and congrats to the worker and PWD. We are very much happy and thanks to CM mam for this as she told during her visit to Dhudia that within 15 days the alternative bridge will be constructed and movement of vehicle will restart and today it reopen. And the trust season is going on and Darjeeling hills is depend upon tourist and now the tourist will directly reach Mirik and surround places.
