Prime Minister Modi, President Xi, and President Putin will all share the stage at the multilateral event, underlining the significance of regional cooperation at a time of global uncertainty. IAF evacuates 11 civilians, delivers 2,150 kg of essentials in flood-hit Punjab (Lead) Chandigarh, Aug 31 (IANS) Continuing with its humanitarian assistance operations in flood-hit Pathankot and Gurdaspur districts of Punjab, the Indian Air Force on Sunday said it evacuated 11 civilians, delivered 2,150 kg of essential relief supplies, and retrieved the mortal remains of a missing employee from the Madhopur barrage, ensuring their dignified return. “These sustained efforts reflect the Indian Air Force''s unwavering commitment to humanitarian values and its credo of service to the nation,” the armed force said in a statement. In response to the severe floods that have struck parts of Jammu and Punjab, the Indian Army''s Western Command has been conducting extensive Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations. Forty-seven columns, as well as Army Aviation and Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopters, have been activated along with formation engineers, medical and communication resources to provide immediate relief. Aviation assets and IAF platforms were extensively deployed with 24 aircraft, including three Advanced Light Helicopters, 10 reconnaissance and observation helicopters, six Mi-17s and a Chinook, pressed into service to ensure evacuation and supply of essential relief material, the Command said in a statement. Western Command chief, Lt General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, visited forward areas affected by the floods in Jammu and Punjab to review the ongoing Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations and was briefed on the extensive rescue, relief and rehabilitation measures being undertaken by army troops in close coordination with the state administration, police, and civil authorities. The army commander expressed satisfaction over the high level of preparedness, swift deployment of columns, and round-the-clock efforts in evacuating stranded civilians, providing medical aid, essential supplies and restoring connectivity. He also complimented the dedication and the good work done by all stakeholders, including police and civil administration officials, appreciating the synergy displayed in mitigating the crisis. Western Command remains committed to providing all possible assistance to civil administration and the local population, with the singular aim of mitigating the impact of floods and restoring normalcy at the earliest, the statement said.

Himachal Monsoon fury: Death toll rises to 320; 166 rain-related, 154 in road accidents Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], August 31 (ANI): The monsoon havoc in Himachal Pradesh since June 20 has claimed 320 lives, with 166 deaths caused by rain-related incidents such as landslides, flash floods, cloudbursts, drowning, electrocution, and other calamities, and 154 in road accidents, according to the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA). The SDMA''s cumulative loss report shows widespread destruction across the hill state, with total damages estimated at Rs 3,05,684.33. The disaster has also left 379 people injured and 1,280 houses fully damaged, besides 40 shops and factories, 35,240 animal and poultry deaths, and large-scale losses to crops, horticulture, and public infrastructure. As of Sunday evening, 662 roads, including four national highways, 985 distribution transformers, and 495 water supply facilities, remained disrupted due to heavy rains and related incidents, the SDMA said in its latest public utility status report. Rain-related fatalities were highest in Mandi district (29 deaths), followed by Kangra (30), Chamba (14), Kinnaur (14), and Kullu (15). Road accidents took the heaviest toll in Chamba and Mandi (22 each), followed by Kangra (19) and Shimla (16). Public infrastructure has suffered significant setbacks, with the PWD, Jal Shakti Vibhag, and power sectors incurring the highest losses. Crop damage is also severe, particularly in Kangra, Mandi, Una, and Kullu districts. According to the SDMA, the devastation includes damage to assets worth 4,231.78 lakh in PWD infrastructure, 1,145.27 lakhs in water supply infrastructure, 2,743.47 lakhs in power infrastructure, and over Rs 1.7 lakh in crop losses. The monsoon has repeatedly triggered heavy landslides, road cave-ins, and flash floods, cutting off access to remote areas and severely impacting essential services. Authorities said restoration work is ongoing, but unstable slopes and frequent rainfall are hampering progress. (ANI)

किन्नौर। विशेषर नेगी। किन्नौर जिला के तिब्बत सीमा के साथ सेट कुन्नू चारंग पंचायत में मटर की तैयार फसल सड़ने के कारण लोग नदी नालों में फैंकने के लिए मजबूर है। इस क्षेत्र से ग्रामीण करीब अढ़ाई करोड़ का मटर हर साल बेचते है लेकिन इस बार किसानों का मटर मंडी नही पहुंच रहा।कुन्नु चार्ंग की पांच सौ की आबादी के अलावा सेना और आइटीबीपी भी सीमा में तैनात है। लेकिन कुंनू चार्ंग को जोड़ने वाला पुल 14 अगस्त को ध्वस्त हुआ था। उस के बाद सरकार की ओर से स्पेन लगाया गया लेकिन स्पेन ठीक से काम नहीं कर रहा वैसे भी एक स्पेन मटर सीजन चर्म पर होने के कारण नाकाफी है। ऐसे में मटर बोरियां अवरुद्ध मार्ग एवं स्पेन के पास पड़े पड़े सड़ने लगा है। लोग अब मटर को नदी नालों में फैंकने लगे है। उल्लेखनीय की इस दूर दराज इलाके में एकमात्र नकदी फसल मटर की होती है । क्योंकि अधिक ऊंचाई होने के कारण इस क्षेत्र में सेब की पैदावार भी नही है। केवल एक ही फसल वर्ष भर की आजीविका का साधन रहता है । ऐसे में ग्रामीण श्रमदान से मार्ग बहाली कार्य में स्वयं जुटे है। हालांकि सरकारी स्तर पर एक और स्पेन लगाने और ध्वस्त पुल को शीघ्र ठीक करने का आश्वासन दिया जा रहा है। बाइट। ग्राम पंचायत कुन्नू चारंग के उप प्रधान सुशील कुमार ने बताया कि 14 अगस्त को शाकचांग नाल में बाढ़ आने के कारण पुल क्षतिग्रस्त हुआ है। उन्होंने प्रशासन, राजस्व मंत्री और लोक निर्माण विभाग से पुल को शीघ्र ठीक करने की मांग उठाई है। उन्होंने बताया कि वर्तमान में रात 3:30 बजे तक मटर स्पेन से बाहर निकालने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं । लेकिन यह प्रयास भी ना काफी है। बाइट कुन्नू चारंग निवासी शिवम नेगी ने बताया कि पुल टूटने के बाद उसको रिपेयर नहीं किया जा रहा है । लोगों को सर्दियों के लिए राशन भी पहुंचना है। मटर भी बाहर निकलना है। चुनौती पूर्ण बना हुआ है। बाइट। हिमाचल फॉरेस्ट कॉरपोरेशन के पूर्व अध्यक्ष एवं भाजपा नेता सूरत नेगी ने बताया कि सरकार किन्नौर जिले में प्राकृतिक आपदा के कारण बाधित हुई सड़कों को बहाल करने में पूरी तरह विफल रही है। जिस तरह से तिब्बत सीमन क्षेत्र में लोगों की एकमात्र आजीविका का साधन मटर की तैयार फसल सड़क अवरुद्ध होने के कारण सड़ने से फेंकने लगे हैं दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण है । वहां पर सेना और आइटीबीपी भी तैनात है सामरिक दृष्टि से भी यह क्षेत्र महत्वपूर्ण है।उन्होंने कहा कि जब भाजपा की सरकार थी तो किन्नौर से मटर हेलीकॉप्टर से बाहर निकाला गया था । लेकिन स्थानीय विधायक एवं राजस्व मंत्री क्षेत्र की स्थिति को सामान्य करने में बिल्कुल विफल रहे हैं।

These IMCT would make on-the-spot assessment of the situation and relief works carried out by the State Government. These Central Teams will visit early next week the flood/ landslide-affected districts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir, which have been severely affected by heavy to extremely heavy rainfall and incidents of flash flood, cloudburst and landslides, during the current monsoon season. An IMCT, and a Multi-Sectoral Team have already visited the state of Himachal Pradesh. The Central Teams are led by a senior officer of the level of Joint Secretary in MHA/ NDMA and will have senior officers from the Ministries/ Departments of Expenditure, Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Jal Shakti, Power, Road Transport &Highways, Rural Development. The MHA is in touch with senior officers of these states/UT, and has extended all necessary logistic assistance by deployment of requisite number of teams of NDRF, Army and Air force helicopters, who are helping them in search & rescue and restoration of essential services. As per the decision taken by the union Home Minister Amit Shah, in August 2019, the MHA constitutes IMCTs immediately in the aftermath of a severe disaster for on-spot assessment of the damage, without waiting for their memorandum. After the assessment of damage is done by the IMCT, Central Government provides additional financial assistance to State from NDRF, as per the established procedure. During the financial year 2025-26, the Central Government has released Rs. 10,498.80 crore to 24 States in SDRF, so as to enable the disaster affected States to provide relief assistance to the affected people immediately and Rs. 1988.91crore from NDRF to 12 States, Rs. 3274.90 crore from the State Disaster Mitigation Fund (SDMF) to 20 States and Rs. 372.09 crore from National Disaster Mitigation Fund (NDMF) to 09 States.

(हमीरपुर)। जिला के चबूतरा गांव में जमीन धंसने से तबाही हुई है। चार मकान जमींदोज हो गए हैं। घटना के बाद लोगों में अफरा-तफरा मच गई। गांव में 20 के करीब घर यहां से कुछ दूरी पर जिन्हे खतरा पैदा हो गया है। यहां पर लगातार जमीन धंस रही है। सूचना मिलने पर प्रशासन की टीम भी मौके पर पहुंची। प्रशासन ने छह घरों को भी खाली करवा लिया है। लोगों को सुरक्षित स्थानों पर शरण दी जा रही है। सत्संग घर में लोगों को शिफ्ट किया गया। इसके अलावा अधिकतर प्रभावित अपने रिश्तेदारों के यहां चले गए हैं। । प्रभावितों ने पुलिस को दिए बयान में कहा कि कुछ मवेशी मलबे में दबे हैं। हालांकि अंधेरा होने के कारण रेस्क्यू रोक दिया गया है। पशु हानि की प्रशासन की ओर से इसकी पुष्टि नहीं की गई है। एसपी हमीरपुर भगत सिंह ठाकुर, स्थानीय एसडीएम विकास शुक्ल मौके पर पहुंचे। उन्होंने ग्रामीणों को सुरक्षित स्थानों पर शिफ्ट किया है। छह परिवारों के बीस सदस्य सुरक्षित जगहों पर शिफ्ट किए गए हैं। गांव में शाम करीब 6:00 बजे जमीन धंसना शुरू हो गई। पंचायत प्रधान अनुबाला ने बताया कि किशोरी लाल, वैंसी राम, सीतो देवी, नरोतम दास का मकान गिर गया है। यह मकान चार सगे भाइयों के हैं। केवल कृष्ण और वीर सिंह के मकान में दरारें आ गई हैं। मौके पर प्रशासन की टीम पहुंची है और राहत कार्यों में जुटी है। प्रत्यशदर्शियों के मुताबिक अभी भी जमीन धंस रही है। चबूतरा सड़क पर लोगों का जमावड़ा लगा हुआ है। लोगों ने इसकी सूचना अपने सगे संबंधियों को दी और एक दूसरे का कुशलक्षेम पूछने लगे। मौके पर पहुंचे पूर्व विधायक राजेंद्र राणा ने भी प्रभावितों से मुलाकात की
