Replacing regular Vidhan Sabha Sessions with selectively curated “Special Sessions” is hollowing out the Legislature and reducing it to a PR platform. Question Hour and Zero Hour are constitutional instruments of accountability, not procedural hurdles to be bypassed. Curtailing House sittings weakens scrutiny, silences public grievance, and concentrates power in the Executive. I have written to the Hon’ble Speaker urging restoration of regular Sessions, a minimum of 40 sittings annually, and protection of the Vidhan Sabha’s constitutional primacy. Democracy cannot survive on slogans and optics alone.
