Ludhiana, Punjab:प्रवर्तन निदेशालय (ईडी), जालंधर आंचलिक कार्यालय ने लुधियाना के एक प्रख्यात उद्‌्योगपति श्री एस पी ओसवाल के डिजिटल गिरफ्तारी मामले से संबंधित धन शोधन जांच के संबंध में धन शोधन निवारण अधिनियम (पीएमएलए), 2002 के प्रावधानों के तहत पंजाब, हरियाणा, राजस्थान, गुजरात और असम राज्यों में 11 स्थानों पर 22.12.2025 को तलाशी अभियान चलाया है। तलाशी कार्यवाही के दौरान विभिन्न अपराध-संकेती दस्तावेज और डिजिटल उपकरण बरामद और जब्त किए गए। ईडी ने बीएनएस, 2023 के विभिन्न प्रावधानों के तहत साइबर अपराध पुलिस स्टेशन, लुधियाना द्वारा दर्ज प्राथमिकी के आधार पर जांच शुरू की। इसके बाद एक ही समूह के अपराधियों से संबंधित साइबर अपराध/डिजिटल गिरफ्तारी के संबंध में विभिन्न पुलिस अधिकारियों द्वारा पंजीकृत नौ और प्राथमिकी भी इसी जांच में ली गई। ईडी की जांच से पता चला कि श्री एस पी ओसवाल की डिजिटल गिरफ्तारी के दौरान धोखेबाज केंद्रीय जांच ब्यूरो के अधिकारी बनकर और जाली आधिकारिक और न्यायिक दस्तावेजों का उपयोग करके उन्हें विभिन्न खातों में 07 करोड़ रुपये स्थानांतरित करने के लिए मजबूर किया, जिनमें से 5.24 करोड रुपये खातों से बरामद किए गए और उन्हें वापस स्थानांतरित कर दिया गया। शेष निधियों को विभिन्न संस्थाओं और श्रमिक डिलीवरी बॉय के नाम पर रखे गए विभिन्न म्यूल खातों में स्थानांतरित कर दिया गया जिन्हें या तो आगे विपथित किया गया या तुरंत नकदी में निकाल लिया गया। जांच के दौरान यह भी पाया गया कि पीड़ितों से धोखाधड़ी की गई राशि को विभिन्न म्यूल खातों में व्यक्तियों के समूह द्वारा तुरंत विपथित किया गया और उन खातों के क्रेडेंशियल का उपयोग एक सुश्री रूमी कलिता द्वारा उसके हिस्से के रूप में दिए जाने वाले धोखाधड़ी के कुछ प्रतिशत के बदले में किया जा रहा था। तलाशी के दौरान एकत्र किए गए विभिन्न अपराध-संकेती सबूत बताते हैं कि वह अपराध के आगम के विपथन और लेयरिंग में गहराई से शामिल थी।

Noida, Uttar Pradesh:Punjab extends deadline for one-time due settlement for traders Chandigarh, In a major relief to the trading community and industry, the Punjab government has decided to extend the deadline for the Punjab One-Time Settlement (OTS) Scheme for Recovery of Outstanding Dues of 2025 until March 31. State Finance Minister Harpal Cheema gave the formal approval for this extension following representations from various stakeholders, including the GST Practitioners Association (GSTPA) Punjab. The decision comes in direct response to the participation seen so far, with the department recording 6,348 applications to date. The state government acknowledged that many taxpayers faced a heavy statutory compliance burden during the final months of 2025, which saw overlapping deadlines for various tax filings. Furthermore, practical challenges such as the pending service of VAT assessment orders had made it difficult for many eligible businesses to accurately determine their liabilities before the original December deadline. The OTS Scheme 2025, which initially launched on October 1, remains one of the state’s most taxpayer-friendly initiatives. It is specifically aimed at reducing legacy litigation and unlocking revenue for the state by offering substantial relief. Depending on the specific demand amount. taxpayers can avail themselves of up to a 100 per cent waiver on interest and penalties, alongside significant waivers on the principal tax amount. Minister Cheema said that this extension would provide a golden chance for genuine taxpayers to settle long-pending disputes under the pre-GST Acts, including VAT and central sales tax, without procedural stress. The Minister further added, “Our government is committed to fostering a pro-business environment. By extending this deadline to March 31, 2026, we are ensuring that no genuine taxpayer is left behind due to administrative or timing hurdles.” He urged all eligible businesses and rice millers to utilise this final window to clear their arrears and start the new financial year with a clean slate. “After the new deadline of March 31, the department will initiate strict recovery proceedings against defaulters who fail to opt for this settlement,” said Minister Cheema.

Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], January 1 (ANI): In India significant breakthrough, Punjab Police has busted an organised crime gang, arrested nine accused involved in murder, extortion and target killings and recovered several weapons, said Director General of Punjab Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on Thursday. According to the preliminary investigation, the accused are part of a well-organised criminal network and were actively planning a serious offence. In a post on X, the DGP wrote, "In a major breakthrough, Patiala Police busts an organised crime gang and arrests 9 accused involved in murder, extortion and target killings. Recovery: 9 pistols (.32 bore) and 1 PX5 pistol (.30 bore). Preliminary investigation reveals that the accused are part of a well-organised criminal network and are actively planning a serious offence." An FIR has been registered and further investigation is underway. PunjabPoliceInd remains firmly committed to crushing organised crime and gangster networks and ensuring peace and security across Punjab," the post added. Earlier on December 31, the Punjab Government's relentless campaign against narcotics reached a new milestone as over 1,000 officers executed multiple raids in a single day. As a part of the de-addiction campaign, the Punjab police convinced 46 individuals to undergo de-addiction treatment and continues its relentless drive against drugs with focused raids, intensive search operations, and sustained awareness initiatives across the state. Continuing the war against drugs, "Yudh Nashian Virudh" waged by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to eradicate the drug menace from the state consecutively for the 304th day, Punjab Police conducted raids at 319 locations, leading to the arrest of 113 drug smugglers after registration of 82 first information reports (FIRs) across the state. With this, the total number of drug smugglers arrested has reached 42,480 in 304 days. The raids resulted in the recovery of 455 grams of heroin, 25 kg of poppy husk, 1995 intoxicant tablets/capsules and Rs 54,440 drug money from the possession of arrested drug smugglers.
